NIMH Biobehavioral Research Awards for Innovative New Scientists (NIMH BRAINS)

This award is intended to support the research and research career advancement of outstanding, exceptionally productive scientists who are in the early, formative stages of their careers and who plan to make a long term career commitment to research in specific mission areas of the NIMH. This award seeks to assist these individuals in launching an innovative clinical, translational, basic or services research program that holds the potential to profoundly transform the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of mental disorders. The NIMH BRAINS program will focus on the research priorities and gap areas identified in the NIMH Strategic Plan and the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) project.
Tribal-Researcher Capacity Building Grants (NIJ)

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is seeking applications for funding for grants to support research involving federally recognized tribes (or tribally based organizations) on issues of crime and justice in the United States. This program furthers the Department's mission by sponsoring research to provide objective, independent, evidence-based knowledge and tools to meet the challenges of crime and justice, particularly at the tribal level. Through this solicitation, NIJ will provide small grants to fund applicants that wish to both (1) initiate new and innovative research projects involving federally recognized tribes (or tribally based organizations) and (2) to facilitate a new tribal-researcher investigator partnership. NIJ expects to make up to five awards with an estimated total amount awarded of up to $500,000. Awards will normally not exceed an 18-month period of performance.
School-Based Health Center Capital (SBHCC) Program

The purpose of the fiscal year (FY) 2019 School-Based Health Center Capital (SBHCC) Program is to increase access to mental health, substance abuse, and childhood obesity-related services in operational school-based health centers (SBHCs), by funding minor alteration/renovation (A/R) projects and/or the purchase of moveable equipment, including telehealth equipment. HRSA anticipates awarding approximately $10 million in one-time funding to support an estimated 100 awards of up to $100,000 each. The $100,000 maximum is for the entire 2-year project period.
