Community Conversations Research Competition

The National Indian Health Board invites Tribal behavioral health experts, researchers, community-based service providers, and Tribal professionals to submit abstracts for 90-minute workshops and 60-minute roundtables at the 2018 AIAN Behavioral Health Conference.
NIHB encourages presentations highlighting evidence-based, best, or promising practices developed in and for Tribal communities. NIHB is particularly interested in presentations that provide tools in addition to information and research, so that gained knowledge can be made actionable. NIHB is also looking for presentations that address Tribal behavioral health issues from multiple perspectives, paying close attention to the social determinants of health (i.e. socioeconomic status, exposure to trauma, access to education, the physical environment, etc.) which directly influence behavioral health outcomes. This year's conference focuses on actions and tools that promote connections with culture and community and knowing your purpose through the implementation of Tribal best practices.

Request for Information: NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science

In order to capitalize on the opportunities presented by advances in data science, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is developing a Strategic Plan for Data Science. This plan describes NIH's overarching goals, strategic objectives, and implementation tactics for promoting the modernization of the NIH-funded biomedical data science ecosystem. As part of the planning process, NIH has published a Request for Information (RFI) to seek input from stakeholders, including members of the scientific community, academic institutions, the private sector, health professionals, professional societies, advocacy groups, patient communities, as well as other interested members of the public.
